One of the most important lessons I’ve learned about leadership is this: if you want to build real trust, you have to meet people where they are. Back when I was at Scala, preparing to meet our Latin American channel partners for the first time, I had a teammate who helped me understand that showing up as a leader wasn’t enough. I needed to connect, on their terms. With her help, I opened the presentation in Spanish. I don’t speak it natively, but I learned it, practiced it, and made sure the message landed. Not perfectly, but authentically. That effort went a long way. It showed respect. It built trust. And I believe it played a meaningful role in the double-digit growth we achieved in the region. Last week, we continued dashcam installations for one of our US-based customers (in the Food Equipment Services segment) with extensive operations across LatAm. This partner has been with DLA/OneTierra for over eight years; like many of our clients, they began with a single solution and scaled their technology as their operational needs grew.
