As part of our continued commitment to empowering HBCU students, Wells Fargo recently hosted the Atlanta Falcons HBCU Fellows for a powerful conversation on financial empowerment at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE). Students from Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Clark Atlanta University engaged with leaders across industries—from sports and entertainment to brand management and finance—gaining insights to help shape their future success. I had the privilege of guest lecturing for University of Richmond's GHRM program this week, presenting on "AI Literacy in Practice: From Theory to Implementation" for Professor Jan Nelson, EdD, PCC HRM 645U course. Sharing our real-world AI transformation journey at Dominion Payroll with these future business leaders was incredibly rewarding. We covered everything from building executive business cases to the reality that 92% of companies invest in AI but only 1% reach maturity (per McKinsey's latest research). The students' questions were sharp and strategic - they clearly understand that AI success isn't about the technology, it's about the change management. Their insights on managing up with AI proposals and addressing employee concerns showed they're ready to lead in an era where 70% of job skills will change by 2030. These GHRM students are entering the workforce at the perfect moment to shape how organizations embrace AI while keeping humans at the center. The future of business leadership is in good hands!
