This event features two in-depth training sessions designed to equip financial aid professionals with practical tools, expert insight, and actionable strategies to better support students on their path to success. Session One: Citizenship and Immigration Verification 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST This session offers financial aid professionals a comprehensive overview of citizenship and immigration verification requirements under federal student aid regulations. Learn best practices for communicating with students about their status, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with federal standards. Gain the tools, confidence, and knowledge needed to manage verification processes efficiently and effectively. Presenter: Randy Changoo Randy Changoo is the Financial Aid Manager for Student Loans and Veterans Affairs at LaGuardia Community College and a Doctoral Candidate in Higher Education Administration. With over a decade of experience in higher education, Randy has led initiatives focused on student access, success, and retention. Beyond the office, he’s an active youth leader as a Cubmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. Randy is a proud member of NYSFAAA, NASFAA, AVECO, and FAVES, and currently serves on several committees within LaGuardia. This interactive session will explore strategies to help students understand tuition costs, student loans, scholarships, and budgeting, ensuring a smooth path to graduation without overwhelming debt. Attendees will gain insight into how to engage students in financial literacy topics and deliver impactful programming that fosters long-term financial stability and independence. During a powerful Saturday evening session exclusively for the husbands, Dr. Banks shifted the paradigm from passive partnership to intentional leadership. He equipped the men with strategic, Kingdom-centered insights on understanding their brides—not merely through communication, but through alignment, awareness, and purposeful action. Core Message Delivered: Marriage is not sustained by emotion alone—it is governed by design, discipline, and leadership. We are honored to be one of only five institutions in New England selected for a $100,000 Accelerator Grant from the New England Prison Education Collaborative. This funding will expand our Prison Education and Community Engagement program, advancing Quinnipiac’s mission to foster engaged citizenship and contribute to the public good. This work, led by Professor of Social Work Amber Kelly, is about more than offering courses. It’s about creating pathways to opportunity and second chances — helping incarcerated learners pursue higher education and supporting their successful reentry into society.
