The coaching industry has exploded in the last decade. This is both a good thing, and a bad thing, in my opinion. A good thing, because our world could certainly use more of a coaching-based approach. A bad thing, because the word "coaching" is often used very loosely —often without training, credentials, or (importantly) a foundation of what it means to uphold standards and ethics in this field. One thing I really like about this new coach training and certification program from Trio Coaching Academy is that it a) is based on ICF core competencies, and b) clearly states the models and frameworks that it is built on. The current pricing is a steal. At Mentor Coach Collective we work with a lot of leaders who are in mentorship or consulting roles in their organizations. They are renewing or pursuing their ICF credential because they see the tremendous value of incorporating coaching skills into their work. When they come to us, they feel like they’ve gotten sloppy on the coaching side (no judgement here - you’re up to great work andwe’ve got you!) My team and I have been assessing ICF performance evaluations since 2012, guiding leaders and coaches toward ACC, PCC, and MCC certification.
