This is extremely well done and a great extension to my post on Crash Champions last week! The collision industry is not as simple as bigger = better. The idea of private-equity backed "rollups" is to:  • Centralize costs under a network of shops (e.g., less overhead per store)  • Use their size to negotiate better carrier & vendor agreements Feeding more stores into a broken machine is a recipe for disaster. If you have low part GP, high cycle times, long payables w/ vendors, poor customer service, lack of attention to detail, etc. then adding stores will only exacerbate these issues. Shops that focus on important KPIs (GP on parts, GP on labor, cycle time, referral rates) + invest in ADAS calibration equipment & OEM certifications are setting themself up for long-term success. Here's how I think about investing into expensive machinery & certifications: 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆  • $2M in annual sales and 15% EBITDA margins   • Invests $600K over 2 years in ADAS + OEM certifications  • 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 = $𝟵𝟬𝟬𝗞 (3x EBITDA multiple * $300K EBITDA) 𝟯 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿  • Increase annual sales to $3M and EBITDA margins to 20%  • 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 = $𝟯.𝟲𝗠 (6x EBITDA multiple * $600K EBITDA) 𝗥𝗢𝗜 = 𝟰.𝟱𝘅 (spent $600K for a $2.7M increase in valuation) The numbers tell a great story for investing in your future!

Michigan CDFIs are investing in communities across the state - large and small. In FY 2023 alone, they deployed more than $550 million, helping to create or retain 2,367 jobs while expanding access to capital throughout Michigan.
