Recruiter Funnel Report terms and definitions

Last updated: 1 year ago

The LinkedIn Recruiter Funnel Report provides visibility into your hiring funnel so you can see how LinkedIn members interacted with paid LinkedIn solutions prior to applying for your jobs.

The Funnel report is a monthly report. You can access this month's data by selecting the current month in the date range dropdown. Updated metrics may take up to 72 hours to appear in the report. All reports are in Universal Coordinated Time (UTC +0).

Important to know

Starting January 24, 2025, LinkedIn will no longer use personal member data in ads or reporting within the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland without member consent. As a result, you may see fewer influenced hires, hiring funnel actions, and other ad-related metrics because of these new compliance requirements.

Funnel vs. Pipeline report

The Funnel Report focuses on the entire candidate journey, from a candidate becoming aware of the opportunity all the way through being hired. It provides a holistic view of candidate engagement on LinkedIn. Alternatively, the Pipeline report is designed to help you understand trends in your hiring process for candidates that have applied or have been sourced for a role, including analyzing conversion rates across stages for individual projects. You can click on the conversion rates to explore further into the data.

Hiring funnel chart

The Hiring funnel chart helps you understand how people move through your hiring funnel. You can drill down into the data for Influenced Hires to identify which roles are top performers in terms of candidate volume and conversion rates as people move through the hiring funnel stages. The comparison view appears if you’ve selected at least 1 Candidate function filter, 1 Seniority filter, and at least 1 additional filter in either Candidate function or Seniority.

Important to know

The hiring funnel takes into account the funnel stages a candidate progresses. In addition, the report fills in skipped stages to ensure the integrity of the report. For example, if a candidate is added to the Hired stage directly from the Interviewed stage, the report will automatically add the candidate to the Offered stage. This feature is only enabled in the Funnel Report and doesn’t impact any of the other available reports.

Metric trend chart

You now have access to the enhanced Metric trend chart, which helps you understand how a metric performs over time. This chart displays LinkedIn-influenced candidates alongside other candidates, allowing you to easily track changes across different time periods. Hovering over any data point reveals a detailed breakdown of Influenced Hires and other relevant metrics for a more comprehensive view of your recruiting funnel. You can switch the chart to display Total candidates or Conversion rate and filter by hiring stage (e.g., Aware, Engaged, Considering) as well as ATS stage (if enabled), ensuring the data aligns with your specific needs. The updated tooltip also reflects the number of Influenced Hires based on the filters you select.

Here's a tip

When you click on the number of candidates in a stage, more details on the breakdown of Influenced Hires by product will slide in from the right side of the page. One hire can be influenced by multiple products, so the sum of every product may not be equal to the Selected products total.

Benchmark filter

The default industry benchmark selector shown in the Benchmark filter on the left pane is the same industry categorization as listed on your company's LinkedIn Career Page. It displays the industry benchmark selector for your company's industry sector. The company size benchmark defaults to all sizes. You can select a different industry or company size using the Benchmark filter.

Infer stages toggle

You'll find the Infer stages toggle under Data settings in the left pane. This feature controls if intermediate funnel stages are inferred. Inferring candidate stages may help the data better represent your hiring process. For example, if a candidate is noted in the Hiring stage but not in the Offered stage, enabling the Infer stages toggle will automatically infer the candidate's presence in the Offered stage. This prevents discrepancies, such as more hires than offers, which could undermine the reliability of metrics like the offer accept rate. Disabling Infer stages aligns your funnel report with your ATS data, allowing you to see only the stages represented in your ATS.

    Here's a tip
