Add custom fields to a profile in Recruiter

Last updated: 1 year ago
Custom fields allow you to add comments directly from a candidate's profile in LinkedIn Recruiter. You can add details such as expected salary, willingness to relocate, candidate interest, and more. You can find and update custom fields from the Recruiting Tools section on a candidate’s profile.

Custom fields have the following features:

  • You can nest multiple options within a custom field.
  • Custom fields support multiple input types, such as short text, numbers, list of options (single select), list of options (multi-select), and date.
  • When you run an advanced search in Recruiter, all of the short text, single select, and multi-select custom fields are visible, allowing you to easily view all of the options.
  • Custom fields can be added to one profile at a time.
  • Custom fields are always inclusive in advanced search, and you can't exclude or filter out candidates by custom fields.

Here's a tip

Recruiter admins can add custom fields to your dashboard. If you don’t see custom fields on a profile, please contact your admin.

To add a custom field to a profile:
  1. Run a search in Recruiter.

  2. On a candidate’s profile under Recruiting Tools, click the Add icon next to the custom field you’d like to add under Custom Fields.

  3. Enter the desired information in the field and click the Check icon to save your changes. Click the Cancel icon to go back without saving the custom field.
