Share your calendar availability over InMail with LinkedIn Scheduler

Last updated: 1 year ago

Once you sync your Microsoft or Google calendar with LinkedIn Recruiter, LinkedIn Scheduler automatically pulls your pre-scheduled calendar and combines it with your Scheduler settings. When you send a message to a candidate, you can directly share your calendar in the message so the candidate can see and book the best time to connect with you. Recruiter users can also choose to include a video conferencing link in the message.

Who can use this feature?

LinkedIn Scheduler and video conferencing are only available to LinkedIn Recruiter users at this time.

Here's a tip

If you don't have a Recruiter subscription today and would like to learn more, you can contact our Sales team for more information.

This feature uses one InMail credit per message unless the candidate is your first-degree connection. If the candidate schedules a meeting with you or accepts the message within 90 days, your InMail credit will be refunded per our Recruiter InMail policy. LinkedIn Scheduler doesn't currently support same-day meetings.

To share your calendar availability in a message after you've synced your calendar:

  1. Click the Messages icon at the top of your Recruiter homepage.

  2. Select a conversation in your inbox.
  3. In the Compose a message box, click the Calendar icon.

  4. Optional: Click Settings to set your meeting duration, link expiry, and meeting type, and click Save.

    • Under Meeting duration, select 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour from the dropdown.
    • Under Link expiry, select 1 week, 2 weeks, or 3 weeks from the dropdown.
    • Under Meeting type, select Phone call or the video conference integration you want to use for the meeting.
  5. Click Send.

The link for the candidate to schedule the meeting populates in the message after you send it. The generated link is recipient-specific. If anyone other than the intended recipient clicks the link, they will receive an error.

If the candidate schedules a meeting using Scheduler, you receive a response confirming the meeting date and time and the candidate's phone number. The candidate has the option of providing their email address and adding a custom response to the message. Scheduler sends a real-time calendar invite with the meeting details to your calendar. Scheduler does not add this information to the candidate's profile in Recruiter.

Candidates can also directly reschedule within Scheduler. Since your calendar is already synced, candidates can view your updated availability. If the candidate reschedules the meeting after you’ve scheduled the initial meeting, you'll receive another response confirming the new meeting date and time.

If you'd like to reschedule the meeting, respond to the candidate's message, or call or email the candidate.
