• Click draft with AI in the message body
• Enable or disable auto-drafting in your AI preferences settings if an admin has turned this feature on for your contract

Bulk InMail may be unavailable if:

• Your contract admin has turned off bulk sending
• You’re in an InMail Improvement Period 
• You’re a Recruiter Lite customer (bulk InMail is only available for Recruiter contracts)

• Subject line: up to 200 characters
• Message body: up to 1,900 characters

Yes. You can use the toolbar above the message body to:

• Bold or italicize text
• Add hyperlinks
• Create bulleted or numbered lists

Access keys let you trigger actions when you compose a message using keyboard shortcuts, such as:

• Inserting variables
• Adding attachments
• Adding an availability link

No. LinkedIn does not send notifications for declines, even when the candidate adds a message.

• Accepted: The candidate replied—you can keep the conversation going.
• Declined: The candidate is not interested; the thread closes and you cannot continue the conversation.
• Pending: Awaiting the candidate’s response. Credits are temporarily held until the candidate responds. Quick Replies count as responses.

In Recruiter, open your Inbox, then select the Awaiting Reply folder. Your message threads will appear when you have messages awaiting a reply.

Yes. You’ll see a warning in the Compose Message window if a colleague on your contract contacted the candidate in the same calendar month.

Your monthly credit amount depends on your Talent Solutions product and the monthly usage limits set by your contract admin. 

To ensure the integrity of our platform and prevent abuse/harassment of our members, we also limit the number of InMail messages, including open profile messages, that can be sent within a period. Credits refresh on the first day of your billing cycle. To view your refresh date, go to Product settings and select Usage overview on the left pane.

You’ll receive your credit back if the candidate does one of the following within 90 days:

• Accepts
• Declines
• Replies (including Quick Replies)

Returned credits may temporarily push your balance above your limit. Your balance resets to the cap on your refresh date.

Yes. Each message—initial and follow-up—uses a credit upfront.

• If the candidate replies to the initial message, the follow-up is automatically canceled and both credits are refunded
• If the follow-up is sent and the candidate replies later, one credit is refunded
• If neither message receives a response, no credits are refunded
  

Any credits that are refunded will be returned to the dashboard rather than the individual user account.

Archiving does not affect credits. You only receive a refund if the candidate:

• Accepts
• Declines
• Replies

Pending messages do not qualify for refunds.

Your credit may not have been refunded for one of the following reasons:

• The message is still pending
• The candidate hasn’t responded within 90 days
• The follow-up was sent and didn’t receive a response
  

If an admin on your contract has set a monthly limit on the number of InMails you can send, any credits that are refunded will be returned to the dashboard rather than the individual user account.

No. Credits are shared across the contract and cannot be assigned to specific individuals. Visit Allocate InMails in Recruiter to learn more.

Admins cannot assign credits but can set usage limits for each user on the contract. Visit Set InMail usage limits in Recruiter to learn more.

All messages appear in your Recruiter Inbox. Click the Messages icon on your homepage to view all threads.

Yes. You can edit or delete sent messages—even after they’ve been seen or replied to.

No. If a Recruiter user deletes their LinkedIn profile, all associated messages and data are permanently removed.
