Apply Connect for Workday is a Workday certified integration that connects your Workday Recruiting tenant directly with LinkedIn Recruiter. This integration replaces legacy job ingestion methods (career site scraping), automatically syncs eligible job postings from Workday to LinkedIn, enables LinkedIn Apply on all synced jobs, and delivers candidate applications directly into Workday as structured candidate profiles.
While Apply Connect gives LinkedIn access to job and candidate data from your Workday tenant, the way we process, handle, and store that data remains unchanged. Data security and privacy continue to be our top priorities.
Important to know
Here's a tip
You will need to complete activation within your integrations settings page in LinkedIn Recruiter. Follow the steps in Connect your Workday ATS to Recruiter to enable Apply Connect.
You will need to grant permissions and authenticate using your Workday credentials. Once the connection between Workday and LinkedIn is established, the initial sync can take up to 24 hours. Ongoing job syncing occurs approximately every 3 hours.
When you enable Apply Connect, LinkedIn requires you to configure a defined set of Domain Security Policy assigned to the Apply Connect integration security group (ISSG) in your Workday Recruiting tenant. These permissions are required for the integration to function correctly.
The permissions are granted as a single bundle and support the full set of Apply Connect capabilities, including job posting sync, candidate delivery, screening questionnaires, and application status signals.
LinkedIn uses these permissions to securely access job and requisition data from Workday and deliver applications as candidate profiles back into the job requisitions in Workday, while operating in accordance with LinkedIn's privacy and security commitments.

To support features enabled by Apply Connect, LinkedIn accesses the following categories of data from your Workday tenant. This data is used solely to support your recruiting workflows and is not shared with other customers.
- Job and requisition data: Information such as job and requisition IDs, titles, descriptions, locations, employment type, and job posting status. This ensures that only active job postings from your external career site are synced to LinkedIn.
- Candidate application data: Candidate information submitted through LinkedIn Apply, including name, contact details, resume, work experience, education, skills, and responses to application questions. This enables applications to be automatically created in Workday.
- Screening and application questions: Primary and secondary application questions configured in Workday. This ensures candidates complete required screening questions during the application process hosted on LinkedIn.
- Diversity and compliance questions (where applicable): Voluntary self-identification questions such as gender, ethnicity, veteran status, and disability status for US based roles, when configured. This supports compliance-related data collection as part of the application flow.
- Application status signals: Limited application status updates (such as application viewed or resume downloaded) used to provide feedback to candidates on LinkedIn about their application progress.
Apply Connect enables LinkedIn to read job and requisition data from Workday so that the active postings from your external career site can be wrapped into Job Slots, and be onsite enabled (LinkedIn Apply) to allow applicants to apply on LinkedIn and deliver applications (candidate) into Workday.
In addition, as part of the candidate delivery flow, LinkedIn writes the following data to your Workday tenant when an applicant applies via LinkedIn Apply:
- LinkedIn Profile data (includes Name, Contact info, Skills, Experience, Education)
- Application data (includes responses to screening questions on your primary and secondary questionnaires)
- Resumes
- EEO responses (US jobs only): Voluntary Disclosure and Self Identify answers
- Candidate metadata: stage (always set to REVIEW), source (always set to LinkedIn)
- Each application creates a new standard candidate profile in Workday.
Each application creates a new standard candidate profile in Workday.
LinkedIn accesses Workday data to deliver a seamless, end-to-end hiring experience across both platforms. The value delivered through this integration includes:
- Attract more qualified candidates: Reach up to 3x more qualified applicants by leveraging LinkedIn’s network and LinkedIn Apply.
- Reduce application drop-off: Simplify the application process with pre-filled LinkedIn profile data to reduce candidate drop-off.
- Accelerate recruiter workflows: Automatically receive candidate data directly in Workday—no manual data entry required.
- Improve candidate experience: Optionally, keep candidates informed with timely application status updates.
For existing Job Wrapping customers using career site scraping, LinkedIn begins transitioning your job ingestion from your current job source (career site scraping) to the Workday API job source used by Apply Connect. Once the transition is completed, LinkedIn will disable the legacy job feed and all jobs will post exclusively through the API integration. Apply Connect will become the only source of job ingestion.
