When you activate Apply Connect, LinkedIn begins transitioning your job ingestion from your current job source (career site scraping or XML feeds) to the ATS job source used by Apply Connect. This ensures your jobs on LinkedIn stay up-to-date with your ATS and unlocks Apply Connect features that streamline your hiring workflow - including a seamless LinkedIn Apply experience and real-time applicant insights directly in your ATS.
- Job matching: To prevent duplicates and avoid disruption for existing job wrapping customers, LinkedIn compares the jobs from your current job source with jobs from your ATS. Jobs are matched using job attributes such as: Employer Job ID, Job title, Location, and Company name. This matching step ensures jobs posted through Apply Connect can be wrapped into paid job slots within Recruiter without interruption.
- Automatic transition: Once all jobs between your ATS and your current job source have matched, LinkedIn will automatically begin posting jobs from the ATS source. At that point, posting from your current job source (career-site scraping or XML feeds) will be disabled.
- No disruption during migration: Until the transition is complete, your current job source will continue posting jobs to LinkedIn. This prevents jobs from disappearing, avoids duplicates during the migration window, and keeps job visibility intact.
Apply Connect benefits
LinkedIn’s Apply Connect enables your ATS to send job postings directly to LinkedIn via API. By using Apply Connect, you gain several advantages:
- Real-time job posting updates: Any changes to your job postings are reflected immediately on LinkedIn.
- Attract more qualified candidates: Leverage the LinkedIn Apply feature for onsite applications.
- Apply Connect In-ATS widgets: For signed-in Recruiter customers, this widget shows a real-time summary of LinkedIn Apply candidates' LinkedIn profiles and how they match your job posting, directly within the ATS.
- Application status notifications: Close the loop with job seekers by providing timely updates.
- Job Wrapping: Apply Connect is compatible with Job Wrapping. Jobs posted via Apply Connect can be wrapped into paid job slots using LinkedIn Recruiter’s Job Wrapping functionality.
What to do when a company is in migration
If your Apply Connect integration state shows LinkedIn Apply isn’t available for all jobs, it means that some jobs did not match between your ATS and current job source.
To complete the migration:
The Review page shows which jobs couldn’t be matched and which ATS jobs will be enabled with LinkedIn Apply once the matching issue is resolved. Select Show Jobs to see the detailed list.
You have two options to proceed:
Option 1: Resolve jobs
Select Resolve jobs to finish migration right away. This will close the unmatched jobs on LinkedIn and enable LinkedIn Apply for all eligible ATS jobs within 24 hours.
Option 2: Fix issues in your ATS
In the Show jobs window, select Download CSV to get the list of unmatched jobs. Use this file to update the job details in your ATS (for example, adding jobs that are missing Employer Job IDs or correcting mismatched job fields).

End of support for legacy job sources
If your ATS offers Apply Connect, we strongly recommend activating it to transition from legacy job sources and take advantage of real time job posting. Note the following:
- Discontinuation of legacy support: After an ATS has launched Apply Connect, LinkedIn will no longer support legacy career site scraping or receiving jobs via XML feeds from customers using that ATS.
- Right to revoke legacy services: LinkedIn reserves the right to revoke support for any legacy career site scraping or XML feeds at any time.
Handling error messages
If you encounter any of the following messages on your ATS platform within two weeks of enabling Apply Connect, contact LinkedIn Support to review your ATS and existing (career site or XML) job sources:
- MIGRATION_MISSING_SCRAPED_JOB
- MIGRATION_MISSING_JOB_POSTING
