Yesterday I posted about how different service providers, especially PR agencies and SEO firms, are defining and selling AEO/GEO services. I didn’t expect the flood of follow-up messages. Many of you asked for clarity, wanted to brainstorm positioning strategies, and shared your own experiences pitching this to executive teams. Here’s what stood out: There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to AEO/GEO. What works for one tech brand can completely miss the mark for another. The latest Muck Rack report backs this up. It makes clear that success depends on how well your team executes, not just what tools or platforms they use. The bottom line: Your PR team is your storytelling engine. Storytelling powers content creation, which is both earned and owned. But creation is just the start. That content must be leveraged and implemented with precision across all digital touchpoints. I see far too many offerings that “solve your content problem” Content has never been a “problem” This is really mid 2010s hype that has somehow extended its tentacles way too far in the future As policy communicators we may well make content, but we don’t solve content problems. There is no such thing What we solve = business problems.

Partnering with bloggers, pundits and social media stars can give your visibility a big boost. 4. Amplify Your Content: Don’t just hope your content finds its way to the right eyes. Use paid, owned and earned media to amplify it. 5. Crunch the Numbers: If you’re not tracking engagement, are you even marketing? Use data-driven metrics to figure out what’s working and what’s not.
