Lots going on within the Joule Ventures portfolio the last few weeks. In addition, we link to a super interesting op-ed published by the The Jerusalem Post on how Bill Ackman invested in a post-October 7th Tel Aviv Stock Exchange when everybody else was sitting on the sidelines. He's seen 100% appreciation in that investment. The point of the article is not that Bill Ackman is a phenomenal investor (he is), but that institutional capital managed by Jewish organizations has largely whiffed on accessing and benefiting from Israel's fast paced economy. OCIOs are disincentivized from directing their 'Jewish' Foundation and Endowment clients into opportunities where they can't deploy enough capital to make it worth their while. At the same time, lay leader-driven investment committees are hesitant to 'rock the boat' and so 'buying IBM' will do just fine. Israel is not a charity -- it is arguably the greatest enterprise technology market outside the U.S. And if you put value-alignment aside completely, which we at Joule encourage when making a financial decision, Israel is as attractive an investment destination as one can find in today's global economy. https://lnkd.in/eg4Fi2tH

Why aren't tech companies building more solar power? Yes, the Amazon AWS outage was impactful - for a day - and the cause (DNS) is interesting - but what stands out to me is data center increasingly heavy needs for electricity. According to this article, in Virginia 25% of the energy usage is by data centers; and they are building more. We need more solar and wind, we need more guidance from politicians, and more ethical focus by these companies. Thrilled to announce Crosspoint Capital Partners' investment in WideField Security! As part of the Crosspoint team, it’s always a special moment when we meet 10x founders tackling one of the most strategic markets in cybersecurity: Identity Security. Before ITDR emerged, PAM was the closest identity-adjacent segment with real cyber impact — IAM and IGA, by contrast, have always been more about access hygiene than security. One last blog post and onto 2026! Final thoughts: Shift left has failed to deliver results in OSS vulnerability management and software supply chain security. It's time to "Shift Out" in 2026 - finally address these risks through automation and proactive software supply chain security measures. It's possible now.
