Current participants include Microsoft, Comcast, Time Warner, Morgan Stanley, Discovery, Sesame, Monster, Career Builder, Best Buy, Common Sense, IMLS, National Urban League, and many others, with many significant players to come. Launched in partnership with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on October 12, 2011.

    mHealth for the Underserved seeks to provide mobile health solutions to persons from underserved communities who face chronic conditions. Minority individuals have higher rates of smartphone and tablet ownership than whites, with low income ownership growing at the highest rate -- they also have the highest incidence of chronic conditions and cost burden on society. However, for numerous reasons, mHealth applications are not being created, cultivated, and marketed to this community. We seek…

    Appointment to the Council is by the Washington, DC Mayor, and I was appointed to the initial Council by Mayor Vincent Gray, then reappointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser. I have Chaired and Co-Chaired two committees. My focus has been on increasing the skillset and capacity of all D.C. students and ensuring access by underserved communities to enter the tech workforce, as well as providing equitable resources to minority entrepreneurs.
