Here is what we are hearing from TA leaders (CHROs, SVPs, VPs) in the high volume recruiting space: 1. ATS pain is everywhere. Almost every team described some version of “post and pray.” Manual screening. Broken workflows. Little to no filtering. Even well-known platforms are being called “very manual.” There’s a real appetite for something better, but switching is a pain and a cost. 2. Lean TA teams are carrying serious volume. - 3,000 hires/year with 14 recruiters. - 40-50 open reqs with 2 recruiters. - One recruiter handling all frontline hiring. 3. Speed-to-candidate is becoming existential. Some teams are targeting 48-hour touchpoints. Others are sitting at 45–60 day fill times for skilled roles. Multiple leaders admitted they’re losing candidates to faster competitors. 4. The tone has shifted from curiosity about AI to: “How do we actually fix this?” The hiring market is tightening. Teams are lean. Volume isn’t slowing down. The winners will be the companies who respond first and screen best but its clear the traditional "ATS as a database" is a huge opportunity for disruption. What this means (simple): If you already hold an H-1B, today’s change is not a fee on your renewal or re-entry. If you’re aiming for a new H-1B, budgeting and timelines just changed. Don’t doomscroll. Do this. - If you’re a current H-1B holder (US or traveling): - Verify with your employer counsel before changing travel—don’t rely on forwards.  - Keep docs handy (I-797, paystubs, letter of employment). - Avoid self-disqualification—keep LinkedIn/resumé dates, titles, and pay records consistent; BGV friction kills momentum more than policy noise.
