Agentic AI for Life Insurance Industry In this post, I will cover the key use cases related to Life Insurance Industry on leveraging Agentic AI agents 1) Use Case 1 - Life Insurance Document Validation (DVQC) Many carriers are using semi automated or manual way of completing the validation of all supporting documents submitted by their customers for buying Risk / Term and Investment coverage via Insurance policies. 2) Use Case 2 - Life Insurance Underwriting Analysis Life carriers are using the rules based approach for deterministic evaluation of data using pre-defined medical grids, mortality rules and other dimensions. Generating an underwriting score is accomplished in an non-AI way which is long, cumbersome and error prone. 3) Use Case 3 - Life Insurance Claims Analysis Life carriers are again using the rules based approach for deterministic evaluation of claims data using pre-defined medical grids, mortality rules and other dimensions for claim settlements. They are not able to track sophisticated fraud rings of agents and their partners in this aspect. In order to solve these challenges, Life Carriers are looking for Agentic AI enabled solutions with the agents doing the following activities: 1) Data Validation Agent - Validates all incoming supporting documents, performs semantic processing of data and eliminate the manual processing / side by side viewing of documents by QC check SME's. 2) Underwriting Agent - Generates the overall risk score covering both the semantic processing of supporting documents and analysis of other partner data available via automated feeds covering: a) Lab Data b) Prescription Data c) Para Medical Data d) Financial Data e) Driving Data f) Criminal Data g) OFAC Data etc This approach of leveraging Agentic AI agents can improve the Underwriting efficiency by at 25% depending on the level of automation that can be planned.
