Ignorance is not bliss  Leaders / PM/ DM asking Test Manager/Lead to create test strategy without Project briefing, Project Plan, requirements and other required details  should know , that you don’t need to hire a test manager , please download your copy of test strategy from Internet  Test Strategy is  more for Test Manager to drive expected scope and quality instead of just one generic project artifact. Please don’t step over Test Manager role and responsibilities. Test Manager is there to support end to end delivery process and ensure quality instead of getting controlled , confused and overwhelmed by PM/DM ignorance in testing process  Test Manager is a leader not a puppet to fulfil unreasonable demands  #Testing #TestManager

I started my QA career doing manual testing. And honestly, at that time, I just wanted to move to automation as fast as possible. I thought writing code = growth. But after spending years building and maintaining automation frameworks, I’ve realised something important… Manual testing didn’t slow my career. It actually made me better at automation. 🚀 When you test manually, you don’t think in scripts. You think in user journeys. You ask: – What can break here?   – What if the user does this instead?   – What edge case are we missing?   – Does this flow even make sense? 🤔  That thinking stays with you. Today when I design automation frameworks or review test cases, that manual testing experience helps me: • Decide what should actually be automated ✅   • Avoid automating unstable or low-value flows ⚖️   • Design better assertions 🧠   • Think beyond “happy path” scenarios  Automation is powerful. ⚡ But automation without product understanding becomes just execution of steps. Manual testing builds intuition. Automation scales it. In my experience, the strongest automation engineers are not the ones who know the most tools. Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to learn multiple automation tools at once. Start by mastering one tool thoroughly. But before diving into automation, make sure your manual testing fundamentals are solid—because even experienced SDETs can be asked manual testing questions in interviews. Take time to analyze market trends and understand what skills are in demand, whether it's for offshore or onsite roles. Prepare with a clear plan in mind. Anwer these 2 questions: How much would you rate yourself in manual testing out of 10? How much would you rate to yourself in automation testing out of 10?

🚀 Titles Change. Mindsets Don’t. 👉 Your impact is defined by how you think and enable outcomes—not by your designation. Here are a few corporate learnings that continue to shape my professional approach. 🧪 1️⃣ Quality Is a Team Mindset Quality doesn’t begin with test cases or end with automation reports. High-performing teams treat quality as a shared responsibility, not a QA task. When testers are involved early—in requirements, risk analysis, and prioritization—teams deliver faster with fewer surprises. ✔ Better decisions ✔ Reduced rework ✔ Higher trust Takeaway: Influence matters more than authority. ⚙️ 2️⃣ Automation Is a Business Enabler Tools like Tosca, Selenium, or Appium are important—but they’re only enablers. The real question is: What business problem does automation solve? Strong automation leadership focuses on: 📌 Release confidence 📌 Predictable delivery 📌 Customer impact Chasing 100% automation coverage looks impressive, but delivering value consistently matters more. Takeaway: Outcomes > Outputs. 🧭 3️⃣ When Scrum Master & Product Owner Become “Side Roles” In many organizations, Scrum Master and Product Owner responsibilities are often delegated to roles like delivery, management, or analysis—on top of their primary job. While this may look efficient on paper, it often leads to: ⚠️ Process over people ⚠️ Output over outcomes ⚠️ Delivery over value The essence of these roles—servant leadership, product ownership, and empowered decision-making—gets diluted when they are treated as secondary responsibilities rather than dedicated accountabilities.
