This video, viewed millions of times on TikTok, Facebook and X and even shared by Elon Musk, claims to show four people on busy streets in Venezuela thanking the US for seizing Nicolas Maduro. But the video is a combination of four AI-generated clips and not real. When paying attention, multiple errors can be spotted in it, including unnatural movements and skin tones, wrong flag patterns, missing teeth, a nipple that changes shape, an odd car number plate and side mirror, and disappearing objects. It was first posted on TikTok by a user who frequently shares AI videos. Having said that, AI gets plenty of details right in this video, including in the background of each clip. Detecting and verifying these generative AI videos with naked eyes is becoming genuinely hard, and will only get harder as we move forward in 2026 and beyond. The time to learn how to verify generative AI content is now, tomorrow is late.
