BetterPride is the LGBTQ+ employee resource group here at Betterment. We work hard to foster an inclusive workplace culture where everyone can bring their whole self. The program is led by volunteer leaders from the Betterment community. As an executive champion, my role is to ensure that the ERG has the right resources and visibility within the organization to be effective.

In order to fill a last-minute need, I served as a board member for the Portland chapter of ISSA (portland.issa.org) for the 2013-2014 program year. I was responsible for chapter programs, including our two special half-day Symposiums and monthly luncheons featuring exciting and timely education on items of interest to information security professionals.

The Finance Committee advises Council on City financial matters. This includes review of staff recommendations for financially-related matters including budget adjustments throughout the year, and review and approval of the Investment and Financial Policies. The most important role of the committee members is serving as the citizen representation on the City’s Annual Budget Review Committee.

Coalition of Gresham Neighborhood Associations Secretary-Treasurer
While serving my own Neighborhood Association, I also served as the Secretary-Treasurer for the Coalition of Gresham Neighborhood Associations. The Coalition provides structure, and peer-to-peer support for the leadership of Gresham's neighborhood associations. The Secretary-Treasurer is responsible for meeting minutes and other administrative matters for the coalition to be successful. Show less
