Nebraska was given approval to begin blocking the use of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) dollars for sodas and energy drinks beginning in 2026, the Department of Agriculture announced Monday. The state joins Indiana, Arkansas, and others that have announced plans to ban the use of SNAP on sodas, energy drinks, candy, and other products deemed unhealthy. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins said in a press release that the waiver is the first of its kind in the country.  https://lnkd.in/gEjK6dzb
