“Throughout my career, I have worked with many leaders, most leans towards the business aspect forgetting about the balance between family and work. This is a common challenge in order to get projects done on a timely manner. However after working with Carla as my director, she was successfully able to balance work with family without sacrificing family time. She believes in order to do your best at work, you would have to be happy at home, which is the main reason why we all come to work. Many people overlook that and eventually it will become a hassle to wake up and drive to work. Home shouldn't be the only safe and happy place to retreat to after a long dreaded day at work. Carla was able to solve that issue. Balancing out the work load, delegating certain instructions where we can actually "Breathe" at work and still maintain a smile at the end of the day. Its been a long time since I woke up and look forward to coming to work. Carla showed me the light! ”

Big thanks to JP Warren for moderating a thoughtful panel discussion. It was great to catch up with former colleagues, current friends, industry partners, and customers. A reminder of the strength and value of this community - especially in challenging markets! One of the most engaging topics was: “Where do you see the biggest impact of AI in your business?” A few standout takeaways for me: 🔷 Faster processing of seismic data → could mean more aggressive approaches to upcoming lease sales. 🔷 Some of the best ideas for AI use cases are being identified in the field, not the corporate office. 🔷 Track the time AI frees up for you and be intentional about what you use it on - make sure it's high-value. 🔷 The benefit of AI depends heavily on the data you are able to feed it 🔷 The best AI outcomes are seen when experienced people are able to guide and direct its use. 🔷 AI might crunch data, but it can’t rewire your house, we should be encouraging kids to learn trades. Clear message: AI is an accelerator, not a replacement. We’ll always need experienced people at the helm. The themes are consistent with what we see at Stepwise. There’s no shortage of data available in this industry, but without the ability to act on it, it’s just more noise, and people are already busy enough. The real value lies in generating insights that drive better decisions, smarter planning, and meaningful results.
