https://lnkd.in/g9vjKfu4 More than 9,000 peers just kicked off #KubeCon + #CloudNativeCon in Atlanta as Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) celebrates 10 years—and the conversation has a new center of gravity. Cloud native and AI aren’t parallel trends anymore; they’re merging. The question is how we make AI boring in the best possible way: predictable, portable, and ready for operations at scale. That’s why the Kubernetes AI Conformance program announced on the mainstage matters. It sets a common floor across six pillars—accelerators, networking, security, scheduling, observability, and operators—so teams can run AI on Kubernetes without bespoke “one-off” integrations for every environment. The live demo showed the building blocks we’ve been asking for: GA Dynamic Resource Allocation in 1.34 to model GPUs/TPUs, standard metrics from the model and accelerators, and autoscaling via custom metrics paths that platform teams can actually support. Context for the urgency: inference demand is compounding. Google reported an increase from ~980 trillion to ~1.33 quadrillion tokens per month in a matter of months. That level of consumption shifts the conversation from pilots to platform. Conformance is the mechanism that aligns vendors and gives enterprises a stable target. What we’ll be watching next: how quickly providers certify and how conformance guidance evolves for multi-node and fractional accelerators. AWS just published a well written post-mortem for their recent 14-hour outage. It’s a clear illustration of how stress in one distributed system can cascade across others. I love seeing higher ed lean into AI with intention. The students who are experimenting with these tools aren’t cutting corners (from my experience as a mom with 1 in college and 1 in HS); they’re trying to understand the world they’re about to enter. I hope we keep moving toward guidance, training, and responsible use, and away from penalties that discourage curiosity. We should be building confidence, not fear.

🚀 The "Plumbing" Paradox: Why Modernization is the Foundation of GovTech In the public sector, "innovation" is not about the newest tools. As someone who spends every day at the intersection of ERP systems, technology and public service, I know that real transformation happens in the infrastructure. If your "plumbing"—the legacy databases and siloed storage—is clogged, the mission stalls. To deliver for citizens, we need to move beyond static environments: ⭐️ Cloud-First Resilience: Replacing rigid, high-cost storage with cloud-first ERP strategies offers the flexibility to scale as community needs evolve. ⭐️ Inter-Agency Synergy: By integrating data exchanges directly into core operational systems, we break down silos to improve outcomes for decision-makers, citizens, families, and health providers. ⭐️ Data-Driven Governance: Navigating multi-cloud privacy is a complex hurdle, but it is necessary to unlock the analytics and data cataloging required for responsive, transparent government and healthcare decisions. Let’s stop treating infrastructure as a line item and start seeing it as the human tool that builds public trust.
