Filter by keyword in Talent Insights

Last updated: 1 year ago

You can use the Keyword filter in your LinkedIn Talent Insights Talent Pool Report or Company Report to refine your results by searching for specific terms listed anywhere on LinkedIn member profiles. With the Keyword filter, you can gain deeper insights into the talent landscape and make more informed hiring decisions. You can’t search by name as members’ first and last names aren’t included in the Talent Insights keyword index.

You can use the Keyword filter to:

  • Search for new or specific skill terms that are not yet available in LinkedIn's standardized skills taxonomy.
  • Locate terms that don’t have a corresponding facet available, such as certifications, product names, security clearances, groups, and associations.
  • Return members that mention a specific term on the Profiles tab of the report, regardless of the context in which it is listed.
  • Perform Boolean searches across facets to combine multiple search criteria. For example, ("Software Engineer" AND "Machine Learning") OR "Machine Learning Engineer".

Important to know

There is a 40-word limit to keyword searches. Currently, the standardized search filters in Talent Insights, such as Job Title and Skill, will return the broadest results. For example, if you search for “software engineer” using the Job Title search filter, you’ll be searching for “software engineer” in all available languages and your search will return the global talent pool for software engineers. However, if you search for “software engineer” using the Keyword filter, your search will only return members with the exact phrase “software engineer” on their profiles in English.
