Job Wrapping in Recruiter best practices

Last updated: 1 year ago

Job Wrapping allows you to automatically post jobs from your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or career site into LinkedIn job slots managed through LinkedIn Recruiter.

When a new job is posted within Recruiter, a new project will be created for every job wrapped into a job slot.

Important to know

When a basic job is posted via the ATS, a basic project is created. These projects cannot have project owners assigned.

Job Wrapping ensures that all your jobs reach the active and passive candidates on LinkedIn. It saves you time and increases your productivity by fully automating the posting, editing, and removal of jobs through LinkedIn Recruiter.

We recommend the following best practices to enhance your experience using Job Wrapping in Recruiter.

Managing increased volume of projects

Using Job Wrapping in Recruiter may lead to an increased volume of projects on your dashboard because a new project will be created for every job wrapped into a slot. To help manage the increased volume:
  • Leverage pinning or tagging to control jobs that you and your team have posted.

  • Enable backfill to eliminate additional backfilled jobs from appearing as projects in that user’s view.

Avoiding multiple projects with the same name

If you’ve already started sourcing for a role in a project before the job posting is wrapped into Recruiter, you may end up with multiple projects with the same name. To avoid having multiple projects for the same open role:
  • Start sourcing for a role by posting your job through Job Wrapping first. Then, use the project created from the job posting to search for candidates and review job applicants.

  • Link any new jobs you post to existing projects to reduce duplicating your efforts in multiple places. This helps you view all candidates and any new applicants in one project.
