Profile Scraping Limit Notification

Last updated: 3 weeks ago

To safeguard our members’ data, LinkedIn’s filtering system will check if accounts are viewing an unusually large number of profiles in a short period of time.

Unauthorized scraping of member data violates LinkedIn’s User Agreement, and LinkedIn continues taking legal and proactive technical measures to prevent this type of illegal abuse. These actions are designed to protect the LinkedIn community and keep control of member data in the hands of our members, not unauthorized third parties.

LinkedIn reserves the right to limit your use of our services. LinkedIn reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate your account if LinkedIn believes that you may have violated our LinkedIn User Agreement or are misusing our services.

If our system detects potential abuse, you'll receive one of the following notification banners:

What you'll see Why you're seeing this How to fix it When access returns
We noticed unusual activity from your account We detected behavior that looks like automated activity. This can be caused by browser extensions or third‑party applications running in the background. Disable or remove any browser extensions or third‑party tools you’re using alongside LinkedIn. Use LinkedIn directly in a supported browser and avoid automation. Your access isn’t restricted yet. If this activity continues, your ability to view profiles may be limited.
Your ability to view profiles has been temporarily restricted To safeguard members’ data, we limit accounts that view an unusually large number of profiles or show signs of automation, often from extensions or third‑party apps. Stop any automated activity. Remove or disable extensions/third‑party tools. Wait until the stated time for access to be restored. Access automatically returns at the stated date and time (your local time).
Profile viewing temporarily restricted To protect member data, daily profile views are capped. We also flag activity that may indicate use of automation tools. Pause profile viewing for the day. Remove or disable extensions/third‑party tools you may be using. Resume after the limit resets. Access automatically returns at the stated date and time (your local time).
