Unarchive a Matched Audience

Last updated: 5 months ago

LinkedIn Matched Audiences are archived when they haven't been used in an active or draft ad set in the past 30 days. You can unarchive a Matched Audience from your Audiences page in Campaign Manager.

Important to know

Matched Audiences created from a third party can’t be unarchived using the Audiences page. You must add the third-party segment to an active or draft ad set for it to become active. See the instructions below to learn how to add an archived third-party segment to your ad set.

Unarchive a Matched Audience

To unarchive a Matched Audience:

  1. Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.

  2. Click Plan on the left menu and select Audiences.

  3. Confirm Matched is selected at the top, then click the Status dropdown menu and select Archived to filter by archived lists.

  4. Click the More icon to the right of the audience list you want to unarchive.

  5. Select Unarchive from the dropdown menu.

  6. In the pop-up window, read the disclaimer and click Proceed to unarchive.

If you’ve created a Matched Audience from a third party, such as HubSpot, you can make the segment active by adding it to an active or draft ad set.

  1. Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.

  2. Click Advertise on the left menu.

  3. From here, you can either:

  7. Find your archived audience and select the checkbox next to the name.

    • Your archived audience will show (Archived) in the name.

Considerations

Keep the following in mind when unarchiving an audience:

Consideration Explanation
Time to make an audience active Unarchived audiences must be reprocessed, even if it was processed before it was archived. This can take up to 48 hours and, in some rare instances, it can take up to 72 hours.
Audience count updates Audience count might change based on updates that were made to the audience while it was archived or based on your chosen lookback window.
Audience size If your archived audience size is zero, it can’t be moved from Archived to Ready.
Third-party segment - Add to a draft ad set If you add an Archived audience to a draft ad set, the audience will be Active for 30 days. If the ad set isn’t updated to Active within 30 days, your audience will revert to Archived.
