LinkedIn AutoFill privacy and security

Last updated: 11 months ago
Marketers have the option to implement a button on their forms called LinkedIn AutoFill. With a single click, LinkedIn members can leverage their LinkedIn profile information to pre-fill a company's form. Learn more about how LinkedIn AutoFill works.

Important to know

As of May 2025, we aren’t accepting new domains for LinkedIn AutoFill. If you currently have LinkedIn AutoFill set up on your website, it will continue to work as usual.

When using LinkedIn AutoFill:
  • When a member clicks LinkedIn AutoFill on an advertiser's form, it will pre-populate the form fields with data from their profile. This is enabled by JavaScript code that is placed on landing pages.
  • No data is shared with an advertiser until the user clicks Submit and LinkedIn AutoFill does not share any additional information beyond pre-filling visible fields on a form.
  • Members have the ability to review and edit the information on the form before submitting.
  • Once it reaches the third party site, the data that is pre-filled by LinkedIn AutoFill into a form is no longer encrypted by LinkedIn.
  • The use of an overlay to cover the Submit button or any part of the form violates our terms.
  • Capturing hidden data fields and member data violates our terms. If any data is to be collected, the fields must be explicitly shown in the form.
  • LinkedIn does not collect any data from forms using LinkedIn AutoFill.
