Can't access Research Network survey troubleshooting tips

Last updated: 3 years ago

If you're having trouble accessing a Research Network survey, here are some potential causes and troubleshooting tips:

  • Expired - The deadline for completing a survey is usually included in the invitation email. Once the survey has expired, you won't be able to access the survey. If your invitation doesn't specify the deadline, click the survey link in the invitation email and a notification message will inform you if the survey has been closed. If it has, you might be selected for a different survey at a later time.

  • Firewall - Some firewalls may prevent you from taking our survey. Try taking the survey on a different computer. For example, if you're having the problem on your work computer, try taking the survey on your home computer.

  • Browser - Our surveys work best with the newer versions of Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox. If you're using an old version of your browser, try updating it.

  • Flash - Some of our surveys require the Flash plug-in. Make sure your browser has Flash installed.

  • Connectivity - Our survey won't work if you've lost your Internet connection. Confirm that your Internet connection is working and then refresh the browser.

  • Mobile Phone - Some of our surveys aren't compatible with small screens. Try taking the survey on a laptop or desktop computer. Clicking the link in the survey invitation email will take you back to the place where you left off.

If you'd like to continue taking the survey, clicking on the survey link in the invitation email should return you to the point where you left off.

If none of these suggestions resolve the problem, please contact us with as much information as you can about the specific issue you're experiencing. If you're receiving an error message, please provide the exact text of the message with a screenshot. Be sure to also include the survey project identifier number found in the subject line (example: PROJECT-IDENTIFIER=P0382b).
