“Open is more than a license to us. It’s a philosophy.” That approach is showing up in the real world, with ROCm powering 8 of the top 10 AI labs. Anush Elangovan at AMD #AIDevDay.

Anush E. joined Conor Bronsdon on Chain of Thought Podcast to discuss how AI coding agents are transforming software development, from faster iteration and test-first workflows to the role of open software ecosystems like ROCm in accelerating innovation. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gp56C8iy
Anush E. is generating 250k lines of code a week and consuming 6.5+ billion tokens doing it - but he hasn't opened a code editor in month. I keep on talking to more leaders who are taking this approach: coding more than ever with AI, rolling back the clock on their careers and their approaches. AMD's CVP of AI Software joined me on the Chain of Thought Podcast to talk about his viewpoint that software today 'is just tokens' and that speed is the moat - which is why he's built a workflow that drives 10-12 Claude Code agents in parallel across three machines, six live projects in languages he doesn't read (Rust, Python, all agent-written), a Slurm replacement built overnight, a Windows GPU driver written without opening a .rs file, and more. Maybe my favorite quote of the episode: "AI agents are sneaky and dumb. They try to reward-hack their way to passing the test." His fix is building tests as sandbox walls, not code review.
