- [Instructor] Windows 11 contains a built-in feature called Snap Layouts that allows you to arrange open applications according to a predefined template. That way the applications can utilize all of the available screen space in a neat and orderly way. Right now, for example, I'm using a snap layout that places two application side-by-side, Notepad and Calculator. Now, one of the interesting things about the way that Microsoft has done this, is that they allow you to treat applications as a group. If I go down to the task bar and I hover over the Notepad icon, for example, you can see that there are two tiles that are displayed. The one on the left is just the application preview window. This is the same as what we had in Windows 10, but the one on the right is a group icon. And so, this icon corresponds to a group of applications, in this case, Notepad and Calculator.
