Enabling controlled folder access
- [Instructor] In this section, we're going to talk about controlled folders in Windows 10. So at the Start Menu I'll type in controlled folders, now click on the option for controlled folder access. Controlled folders is Microsoft's ransomware protection, and basically it limits the applications that can access the files in certain folders. The hope is that it would block a ransomware attack by preventing the ransomware software from accessing your most important files. So I would highly recommend that you have this turned on just by using the slider here. Underneath that we have block history, which if I click on that, it'll show me any applications that have been blocked from accessing certain files or folders. I have none, so hit back. Next is the option on protected folders. I'll click on that and it shows the list of folders that are currently protected. There's kind of some unusual choices here, and these are…
