- When you're finding patterns in quantitative data, statistics are your best friend. Here I'll introduce you to a few ways to find patterns in your data, and don't worry, no background in math needed. In this video, we'll be talking about what you can do with basic descriptive statistics, and then in the next video we'll take it further to address additional types of testing commonly used in market research. I want to start by saying you can see a lot from basic descriptive statistics. Descriptive statistics are a set of common measurements designed to summarize or organize large amounts of data. If you're conducting a survey with a tool like SurveyMonkey or Qualtrics, these descriptive statistics are going to be automatically calculated for you, because they really are the foundation of quant analysis.
