- Next up, let's talk about two techniques that help us dive deeper into our findings. These do require statistical knowledge and often specialty software. So if you're planning on using these techniques check out the earlier video on quantitative tools. Let's start with hypothesis testing. Hypothesis testing is an analysis technique where we make a declarative statement called a hypothesis and then we try to prove or disprove it with data. We test the relationship between two or more variables in our dataset and use that test to say yay or nay. The hypothesis that you're testing should be written out in your research objectives. And the study should be planned in a way to measure the specific variables that you're going to need. The statistical tests you choose will depend on your hypothesis, the type of data you have, the sample size, how many outcome variables you have, and also the structure of your data. There's a lot…
