Hi, Carrie here. Working on goals rarely goes as planned. Delays, setbacks, all of these can make you frustrated and upset, even to the point of wanting to give up on your goals. If you know one thing, it is that life is not predictable, no matter how much you conceive of every possible outcome. When you learn to realize that delays and setbacks are just simply part of the process, why not learn to enjoy it a little bit more? If nothing else to just simply be in that space of present moment awareness and acceptance. Instead of ruminating in stress or anxiety when setbacks occur, practice staying in the present moment. This is, after all, the cornerstone of mindfulness. Why? Because present moment awareness leads to overall happier feelings and better well-being. Not only that it improves your concentration, it enhances your emotional intelligence, it deepens your empathy and ultimately gives you a better sense of self control.
