The agentic revolution
- [Person] AI agents have taken the world by storm when it comes to developer tools. Now, there are a few definitions of what an AI agent is, but when we think about these tools, we usually talk about tools that are goal-oriented, they can retain information and state across tasks, so they can sort of chain tasks in order to get to a certain goal, also, they have increased autonomy, so they're given a little bit more freedom than traditional AI tools to make assumptions and decisions. Now, this doesn't come without some drawbacks. Now, first, as you may assume, you probably give up some control over the outcome of what it is you're trying to achieve when you hand over the keys to an AI agent. Another thing to keep in mind is that an AI agent may produce outputs in larger chunks. Now, is this a bad thing? Not necessarily, but having large outputs can sometimes let things slip through the cracks when we have more to sort of go through and monitor, so we have a larger feedback loop when…
