How AI is transforming cybersecurity

- Why should we even care about AI in cybersecurity? One of AI's greatest strengths is recognizing patterns. For example, I once spent half the day analyzing network traffic from a new malware variant, looking for patterns. As an experiment, I asked AI to analyze the same network telemetry. It was able to identify a more refined pattern On seconds. Since ChatGPT went viral, a wave of AI-powered tools have emerged, designed to be user friendly, even for those without a coding background. But with all this talk about AI as the cybersecurity superhero, it raises an important question. Are there any downsides? Like any tool, AI can be misused, and one of the biggest things to remember is that AI is only as good as the data it's trained on. It's about carefully selecting the data AI learns from, and baking ethical considerations into the development process from the very beginning. So does this mean robots are going to steal our jobs? The short answer, no, but the nature of cybersecurity jobs are evolving, and professionals will need to adapt by developing new skills, especially those that involve working alongside AI. Hi, I'm Michael Wylie. I help organizations and security professionals like you detect and respond to threats, reducing risks and preventing costly breaches. Join me in this course to learn how to lead the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, ones who leverage AI as a powerful copilot.
