Reorder fields in a visualization
- [Instructor] After you create a visualization in Tableau, you can change the organization of your data by manipulating fields. In this movie, I will show you how to create this, and then reorganize the fields within it. My sample file is oh 02_05 Reorder, and you can find it in the Chapter 2 folder of the exercise files collection. I have created a Tableau workbook, and on the left I see that I have a single table of data with the fields that you see here. I'll start by summarizing my data by product category. So I'll bring that over to the rows shelf, and then I will also add order total to the data area. So I will get the total value for orders for each of my categories. I'll drag that over to the data area, and there is my total. I can resize the column by moving the mouse pointer over the edge of the column, and you can see that my mouse pointer changes to a two-way pointing horizontal arrow.
