Search and reporting app
We discussed that there are some apps that come by default with your installation of Splunk. Two of those apps are the home app and the search and reporting app. Previously we've seen the home app, now we're going to look at the search and reporting app. So the search and reporting app here is the app that provides you the default interface to search, analyze and visualize your data when you have it in Splunk. So let's suppose that you install Splunk and then you happen to have indexed some data from some source into Splunk. Now if you wanted to analyze that data, then it is a search and reporting app that you're going to use to analyze that data. Let's look at some of the sections of the search and reporting app here. The first one we're going to look at here is the search bar. The search bar here is where you actually specify your search criteria.
