Module overview
As part of the previous module, we discussed Splunk installation. So at this point, you should have your own single instance deployment of Splunk. We went a step further to see how you can administer Splunk through the web user interface. Then we discussed Splunk apps, and then we concluded by discussing users and roles. So what we're going to do in this module is to see how you can index some data into your Splunk deployment and then we're going to see how you can use that data for the remainder of this course. We're going to start the module by looking at a high level overview of the Splunk index time process and then after that we're going to look at some of the options that are available for you to add data in your Splunk deployment and the final part of the module we are going to add the training data so we're going to index the data that we're going to be using for the exercises that are to follow in the remaining parts of the course.
