Adding key schedules
- As you're planning your strategy for schedules and which schedules to incorporate into your project templates, make sure you consider adding some key schedules. A key schedule offers a convenient way to import the values of several fields all at once by just simply choosing a key off a list. So it's another kind of schedule, but really what its goal is to speed up data input. So I made a file called Key Schedule, and I'm looking at the door schedules, and there's a great opportunity to introduce a key schedule when you're talking about a door schedule. Consider the fact that you've got various doors, but a door is really three things. It's a door, it's a frame and it's a collection of hardware. And all three of these things are listed on the same schedule. Now you could create door types that include all the different combinations. For example, I could have a wood flush door in the same kind of frame as a door with a vision panel. So does that mean I create two different door…
