- [Voiceover] There's lots of ways you can potentially use CAD data in your Revit projects and in this movie I'd like to look at another scenario where we will import a detail file that's been created in CAD and use it within our Revit project. Now most firms have libraries of standard details that they've been accumulating over the years and it might have taken some time to generate these and they get reused over and over again. Now you certainly could redraw all these details natively in Revit but it would take some time so an alternative is to actually just import the AutoCAD files directly and print them right along with your project set. For those truly typical details you can get away with doing that. So I'd like to go through that process here and I'm also going to do it slightly differently than we did in the last two movies in that I'm going to use the import CAD this time instead of the link CAD just to kind of compare and contrast some of the differences.
