- When using textures to create shaders it's important to have properly mapped UVS and UV tiles. However, sometimes it's not always possible or available, for those times the Tri-planer node can come in very handy. This utility node allows you to blend and transform UV tiling without having to unwrap and map out a proper UV channel. So we'll take a look at how this thinker statue is set up right now. I just have the basic thinker statue object here and there's no UV channels you can see. So if I apply this UV grid material you'll see how messed up this texture is once we place it on the object. Nothing seems to be falling quite right, once again that's because we don't have a UV tag generated for this. Now we can come up here and try to use different projections in order to make this fall a little bit better but nothing is going to fall quite right as far as the mapping for this particular statue.
