- [Instructor] Response surface designs let you analyze the effects and higher order interactions among the factors that impact the response surface of Y, which is the curved response surface. The resolving transfer function Y equals f of x is a quadratic equation or even a cubic equation, and it is not limited to a linear straight line relationship. It can then be used to determine the best combination of X settings to optimize the curve response if there's Y. I want to demonstrate how to use Minitab to analyze a responsiveness design using the example of how two factors affect process yield. In Minitab, go to file, open, project 05_07 RSM.mpx from the exercise files. Here you see the results of the experiment with 13 runs. To analyze, go to stat, DOE, response surface, analyze response surface design.
