The static prototype
- [Instructor] Once the wire frames and paper prototypes have been approved, the time has arrived to answer the question everyone from the stakeholders to the team has been asking, what does this thing look like? In many respects, this is the purpose of a static prototype. In this prototype, the screens come to life and the images, text colors, and asset names are established. Though I use the term static prototype, these can also be referred to as mid-fidelity or low-fi prototypes. Think of this prototype as a mock-up plus. It serves all of the purposes of a mock-up, finalizing visual designs, presenting to clients, et cetera, but with the bonus of some limited interactivity. In some tools, you'll be stitching together screens through the creation of linked hotspots. As users click on the hotspots, the next page will load.
