- Welcome back. This is lesson 8.9, Monitor by Using Intelligent Insights. Before I get started, I first want to point out that at the time of this recording, Intelligent Insights is in preview, so things that I cover may change. So with that, let's get into Intelligent Insights. Let me first begin by saying that Intelligent Insights is different than SQL Database watcher. While they both watch your database, there are some differences. So Intelligent Insights uses AI to detect disruptive events that can lead to poor performance. It's continually monitoring your database, analyzing performance. It compares your database workload from the last hour with the past seven-day baseline workload. Intelligent Insights performs a root cause analysis, which generates a resource log that contains performance improvement recommendations.
