- Welcome back. This is Lesson 3.9, Implement a migration between Azure SQL services. When we talk about migrating or a migration between Azure SQL services, it refers to going from one Azure SQL service to another, such as taking a database from an Azure VM to Azure SQL Database. So when we talk about these scenarios, we have several options, you have several options. Let's begin with infrastructures as service to platforms as a service, where I'm taking a database in an Azure VM and migrating it to either Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Managed Instance. So first and foremost are the tried and true Azure Database Migration Services and Azure Migrate. We've talked about both of these before in pretty good detail, but it does provide the analysis and the assessment of what it's going to take to go from Azure infrastructure as a service to platform as a service.
