How to use Meterpreter
- [Instructor] A core component of Metasploit is the Meterpreter, which effectively is the shell that we can issue commands, backwards and forwards depending on what type of exploit and payload we've used. So it's important for us to know how to utilize Meterpreter. So first off, let's say we wanted to go through the process of connecting to a machine and seeing what Meterpreter looks like. Well, first off, let's say I wanted to connect to a Windows machine, so for this one, we can use the search command and look for something that's going to use smb. So maybe a an SMB exploit. If we are looking for exploits, let me just clear this here. We can actually type search SMB and then we can actually say, I'm looking for exploit and press enter. And what this will do is narrow down the returned modules to be just the exploits. So for example, if we were looking for, you know, if we scroll up here, maybe we're looking for NetWare…
