Bridging the Gap: Why Marketers and Designers Need a Shared Language
I highly recommend this course to every marketer, not just designers. As the content highlights, marketers and designers must work in tandem to meet campaign objectives. Having a mutual understanding of each other's roles, including a firm grasp of technical jargon, minimizes unnecessary back-and-forth and streamlines communication. When both parties take the initiative to understand the other's workflow, it fosters much stronger collaboration.
The course structure is excellent, supported by wonderful and practical case studies. Looking ahead, I would love to see an update on how AI will continue to impact these collaborative workflows.

In this course, Amy Balliett teaches designers some core tenets of marketing, as well as how to manage marketers as clients, interpret marketing goals, and use those goals to inform all design choices. Amy begins by helping you get into a marketing mindset. She explains the role of design in marketing, defines a marketing campaign, and goes over how to speak like a marketer. Then Amy dives into important marketing strategies, including SEO optimization, email marketing, content marketing, and much more. Next, she covers key components of building your marketing campaign, such as SMART goals, a content strategy roadmap, and visual language design. Finally, Amy wraps up with a discussion of how all the previous steps come together, as well as the follow-up process, measuring success, and showing your value.
