- Final Draft 12 offers another tool that, like the beat board and outline editor, goes beyond formatting. But instead of helping you handle the initial brainstorming and intermediate structuring, it comes into play once you're actually drafting. This weapon of mass destruction is known as the navigator. The navigator is really four tools in one panel that floats apart from your main window, ready to track your progress and respond to your every command. Let's dive in. Click on show navigator under the tools menu and the navigator reveals itself in the first step it's three guises, the scenes navigator. The top half of this panel is a macro view of your script, listing every scene. The bottom half focuses on the detail of every scene.
