- [Man] By default, premier elements automatically sets up your project based on the media you add to your timeline. In other words, if I go to my "Project Assets" here, and I take this little video clip that is 1280x720, and I add it to my timeline, the program will automatically see what the specs of that video are. And if I go here to the edit menu and select project settings general, you see that the program has automatically set up the project so that it matches that video. And if you work with camcorder video, that's ideal. The program will automatically match your project settings to the video specs, and that will give you a nice efficient workflow. But social media sites like Instagram and Facebook can require other aspect ratios or other shapes. They may not want a 4:3 or 16:9 that a camcorder provides.
